Employer-based Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships offered by Penn State Behrend which give preference to students or dependents of parent(s) who work for specific companies.  If you (or a parent) are employed by one of the following companies, you should complete the appropriate application below, for scholarship consideration.

Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding academic success. Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  First preference shall be given to students who are children of employees at Alliance Plastics or any successor companies (Essentra). 

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS FORM UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT WHO WORKS FOR ALLIANCE PLASTICS OR ANY SUCCESSOR COMPANIES (Essentra).

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who are in good academic standing.  First preference shall be given to children or relatives of employees leased to Transportation Investment Group, LP or its successors; and employees leased to Transportation Investment Group, LP or its successors.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS FORM UNLESS YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER ARE EMPLOYED BY TRANSPORTATION INVESTMENT GROUP, LP.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College who have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.0. First consideration shall be given to employees and their families (children, grandchildren, spouses) of Parker Hannifin/Snap-Tite (formerly Snap-Tite, Inc.) or Stonebank Management LLC. Key employees, as defined in Section 416 of the Internal Revenue Code, of Parker Hannifin/Snap-Tite or Stonebank Management LLC or their children shall be ineligible for this scholarship.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU ARE AN EMPLOYEE OR A FAMILY MEMBER (CHILD, GRANDCHILD, OR SPOUSE) OF AN EMPLOYEE OF THE ORGANIZATIONS INDICATED ABOVE.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who are in good academic standing or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  First preference shall be given to employees and children of employees of Morris Coupling Company.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU OR YOUR PARENT WORK FOR MORRIS COUPLING COMPANY.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.  Students must be enrolled or planning to enroll in one of the following Penn State Behrend majors: Accounting; Business Economics; Business, Liberal arts, and Sciences; Computer science; Finance; Management information systems; Management; Marketing; or Mathematics.  Preference shall be given to children of employees of Erie Insurance Group regardless of county of residence.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT EMPLOYED BY ERIE INSURANCE GROUP.

Consideration for this scholarship is given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success; who are residents of Crawford, Erie, Lawrence, Mercer, or Venango Counties in Pennsylvania; and who demonstrate leadership abilities.  First preference shall be given to children of employees of First National Bank of Pennsylvania regardless of county of residence.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT EMPLOYED BY FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF PENNSYLVANIA.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding academic success. Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  First preference shall be given to students who are former employees of Hammermill Paper Company (at the time of its closing) or any of its successor corporations; their spouses; and their descendants. Applicants must give evidence of their relationship with Hammermill Paper Company. Recipients must currently reside in Erie County, PA.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU MEET THE ABOVE CRITERIA.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.  Preference shall be given to students who are children of employees of United Refining Company, Kwik Fill, or Country Fair, Inc.  (Children of shareholders are not eligible.)

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU OR YOUR PARENT ARE EMPLOYED BY ONE OF THE ABOVE REFERENCED COMPANIES.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College who have achieved superior academic records.  First preference shall be given to children of employees of National Fuel Gas Company.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT EMPLOYED BY NATIONAL FUEL GAS COMPANY.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who are in good academic standing. First preference shall be given to employees, children of employees, or grandchildren of employees of The Plastek Group, Inc.

Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for this scholarship.

(Key employees and directors of the Plastek Group, Inc. or their grandchildren shall be ineligible for this scholarship.)

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS FORM UNLESS YOU, YOUR PARENT, OR YOUR GRANDPARENT ARE EMPLOYED BY THE PLASTEK GROUP, INC. 

First preference for this scholarship opportunity goes to children of full-time employees of PHB, Inc. and Reddog Industries, Inc.  Second preference goes to full-time employees of said companies.  All scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time and have a 3.0/4.0 minimum cumulative grade point average.  Scholarships are renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship guidelines.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT WHO WORKS FOR ONE OF THE ABOVE REFERENCED COMPANIES.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who are in good academic standing or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who have a demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  First preference shall be given to children of employees of Reed Manufacturing Company, Inc.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT WHO WORKS FOR REED MANUFACTURING COMPANY.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who are in good academic standing or who manifest promise of academic success.  Priority will be given first to students who are children of former employees of Erie Plastics, Inc. Among these applicants, first preference will be given to students majoring in Plastics Engineering Technology; second preference to students majoring in a major within the Sam and Irene Black School of Business or School of Engineering; and third preference to students in any other Behrend major.  If there are no applicants who are children of former Erie Plastics, Inc. employees, then preference will go to students majoring in Plastics Engineering Technology.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT WHO WORKED AT ERIE PLASTICS, INC.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.   Financial need may be a consideration, but it is not a requirement, for eligibility of the scholarship.   First preference shall be given to students who are employees or children of employees of Scott Enterprises, Inc.

(Key employees and directors of Scott Enterprises, Inc. or their children shall be ineligible for this scholarship.  For purposes of interpreting this provision, the University shall be governed by the definition of key employee as provided in Section 416 of the Internal Revenue code, as amended from time to time.)

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS FORM UNLESS YOU, YOUR PARENT, OR YOUR GRANDPARENT ARE EMPLOYED BY SCOTT ENTERPRISES, INC. 

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are residents of Erie, Elk, Forest, Crawford, Venango, and Warren counties, and who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.  First preference shall be given to children of employees and retired employees of the Times Publishing Company.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT EMPLOYED BY TIMES PUBLISHING COMPANY.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of academic success and who have declared a major in the School of Engineering or the School of Science.  Consideration is also given to students in other majors at Penn State Behrend.  First preference will be given to children of employees of Parker Lord Corporation.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE A PARENT EMPLOYED BY PARKER LORD CORPORATION.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, who have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding academic success.  First preference shall be given to students who are employees or children of employees at Troyer, Inc.  Second preference shall be given to students who are graduates of Fort LeBoeuf High School, Waterford, PA or residents of Union City or Waterford, PA.

(Key employees employees of Troyer, Inc. or their children shall be ineligible for this scholarship.  For purposes of interpreting this provision, the University shall be governed by the definition of key employee as provided in Section 416 of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended from time to time.)

Relationship


Important:  Incoming freshmen who wish to apply for this scholarship must complete the Penn State Behrend Leadership Scholarship form. Returning students will be invited to apply for the Leadership Scholarship in May of each year.

Release Statement

In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), I hereby authorize the Pennsylvania State University to release personally identifiable information from my education records, including but not limited to major, activities, grade point average, financial need information, and other information to donors who will be considering me for the scholarship for which I have applied. This release of information is necessary for the selection process for the award. I also authorize the University to periodically release personally identifiable information to the scholarship donor for the purpose of updating the donor on my progress at the University. I also authorize the release of personally identifiable information to the public through a press release; newsletter announcement; or a banquet or program booklet. I understand that (1) I have the right not to consent to the release of my education records under FERPA; (2) I have the right to receive a copy of such records upon request; (3) and that this consent shall remain in effect until revoked by me, in writing, and delivered to the Penn State Behrend Financial Aid Office.

I understand that scholarship awards may be adjusted or revoked due to unsatisfactory academic progress, change in enrollment status, ceased enrollment at Penn State Behrend, or otherwise failing to meet the guidelines of the awarded scholarship.
